Markdown Previewer tool

About this tool

A Markdown previewer renders plain Markdown as you write, so you can check structure before publishing or committing a file. It supports GitHub Flavored Markdown features including tables, task lists, strikethrough, and autolinks. Fenced code blocks receive syntax highlighting, making technical notes, README files, and documentation easier to review.

Your Markdown is rendered inside the browser, never uploaded, and removed when the tab closes. Generated HTML is sanitized before display or copying, which prevents raw input from freely injecting unsafe markup. You can copy the HTML output, keep the source as a .md download, or save the rendered result as an .html file.

How to use the Markdown Previewer

  1. 1Type or paste Markdown into the source editor.
  2. 2Add tables, task lists, autolinks, or fenced code blocks as needed.
  3. 3Watch the rendered preview update beside your source text.
  4. 4Review syntax highlighting and the sanitized HTML result.
  5. 5Copy the HTML or download an MD or HTML file.

Frequently asked questions

Does the previewer support GitHub Flavored Markdown?

Yes. It handles GFM tables, task lists, strikethrough, and autolinks in addition to common Markdown syntax.

Can I copy the Markdown as rendered HTML?

Yes. Copy the sanitized HTML output directly, or download it as an .html file.

Why is some raw HTML changed or removed?

The rendered output is sanitized to prevent unsafe markup from running in the preview or copied result.

How do I get syntax highlighting in a code block?

Use a fenced code block and add the language name after the opening fence. Supported language identifiers receive highlighting.

Is my draft Markdown uploaded?

No. Rendering and sanitizing occur in the browser, and your draft is not retained after the tab closes.
